HON. FONTAINE E. ALBRIGHT was born in Simpson County, Kentucky, December 20,
1845. He received his early education at the common schools and subsequently
attended college at his own expense; studied law, and was admitted to practice
at Cairo in May, 1867. In June, 1867, he was elected Prosecuting Attorney, and
removed to Murphysboro, Jackson County, in 1870. He was married August 1, 1870,
to Maggie L. Shaunessy, daughter of Judge Shaunessy, of Cairo. He has acted in
various official capacities, and as a lawyer has participated with ability and
success in many noted trials. In politics he has also taken a leading part,
having been Chairman both of the Democratic and Liberal Central Committees.
